LESSON 3 · Calculus Without Tears
Integration Around You
Integration shows up wherever tiny contributions accumulate into meaningful totals. The fuel gauge in your car integrates consumption rate over time. The total rainfall reported after a storm is an integral of rain intensity across hours.

Train yourself to spot integration in daily life. Your electricity bill integrates power consumption (kilowatts) over time (hours) to give kilowatt-hours — that is literally an integral. A pedometer does the same trick: it integrates your step rate over a walk to report your total distance.
