Same Value, New Outfit

1/2, 2/4, 3/6, 50/100 — these all represent the exact same amount. Equivalent fractions are different numerical expressions of one quantity. Multiply or divide both the numerator and denominator by the same number, and the value does not change.

Think of it visually: cut a pizza into 4 slices and take 2, or cut it into 8 slices and take 4. You eat the same amount of pizza either way. The slices are smaller in the second cut, but you take twice as many — so the share stays exactly half.
