The Strongest Shape
The triangle earns its title because it is the only polygon that cannot be deformed without breaking — every angle is locked in place by the lengths of the three sides. That combination of stiffness and lightness is impossible to match with any other shape.
The Eiffel Tower, the Brooklyn Bridge, and every aircraft wing rely on triangular reinforcement for exactly that reason. When engineers reach for a triangle, they are letting ancient geometry — not sheer bulk of material — do the heavy lifting, and the geometry wins every time.
