They quote the price in different units, so the cheaper-looking tag may not be cheaper
One tag might show price per pound while the neighbor shows price per ounce, or one per item and the next per 100 grams. Until both are in the same unit, the bigger-looking discount is just a trick of the label. Convert first, then compare.
