Future Supercontinents

Earth's continents are not done rearranging. In about 250 million years, the landmasses will collide into a new supercontinent. Several models predict its shape.

Pangaea Proxima has the Atlantic closing as the Americas drift east. Amasia gathers the continents around the North Pole. The boldest, Aurica, closes the Atlantic and Pacific at once.

Any new supercontinent's interior would be a vast desert, far from ocean moisture. Today's world map is just one frame in an endless geological movie.
