The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), despite its peaceful name
The Korean DMZ is 250 km long and 4 km wide. Despite being called "demilitarized," it is ringed by minefields, razor wire, and one of the largest troop concentrations in the world. The strip itself is mostly off-limits to people, so it has become an accidental wildlife sanctuary.
