Living With The Rains
In the tropics there are no four seasons. Life runs on a wet-and-dry calendar set by the rain belt as it drifts north and south through the year.
That calendar dictates when billions of farmers plant and harvest. In the wettest corners of India, people went further: they grew living root bridges, training rubber-tree roots over decades into walkways strong enough to cross streams that flood every monsoon.
