What Shifting Zones Mean
When zones move, daily life moves with them:
- Farming — northern growing seasons stretch longer, while drought bites harder in subtropical regions, redrawing where the world's food can grow
- Water — mountain snowpacks that feed billions shrink as the cold zone climbs higher, starving the rivers downstream
- Disease — mosquito-borne illnesses like dengue and malaria push into places that were once too cool for them
