No — putting north at the top is just a habit, not a law of nature
In space there is no up or down, so a map with south on top is equally correct. Australian Stuart McArthur published a famous **south-up map** in 1979 that puts the Southern Hemisphere on top. It feels wrong only because we were trained on north-up maps.
