At a large fraction of the speed of light
A neutron star's gravity is so intense that an object dropped from far away would slam into the surface at a sizable fraction of the speed of light. The same crushing pull means light leaving the surface is noticeably bent, and escaping it would require a velocity rivaling that of light itself.
