LESSON 4 · Black Holes: Where Physics Breaks

Because its event horizon is so large, the gravitational gradient across your body stays gentle. You could cross the event horizon of a billion-solar-mass black hole without feeling anything unusual. No alarms. No physical barrier. Just a quiet crossing of an invisible mathematical boundary.

The horror comes later. Once inside, you are carried inevitably toward the singularity. Tidal forces grow stronger as you descend, and eventually spaghettification catches up with you.
