LESSON 4 · WWII: Secrets & Turning Points

Quantity Over Quality

Germany's tanks and aircraft were often more advanced, but America buried the Axis under sheer numbers. Beyond the headline totals, the output kept piling up:

  • 2.7 million machine guns rolling off the lines
  • 6,500 naval vessels, including 150 aircraft carriers
  • Germany built roughly 50,000 tanks total — America nearly doubled that

The strategy was simple: out-produce the enemy until quality could not save them. When losses mounted at the front, American factories just built more.
