Inside the Fuhrerbunker

The Fuhrerbunker was a grim labyrinth — 30 rooms buried under 10 feet of concrete and 6 feet of earth. Hitler hadn't seen daylight in weeks. His hands trembled, he was pumped full of drugs by his personal doctor, and he raged at his generals for defeats that existed only in his imagination. He moved armies that no longer existed across maps, certain that a counterattack would still save Berlin.
