Bose Ikard
Born enslaved in Mississippi, Bose Ikard rode the Goodnight-Loving Trail through Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, serving as Goodnight's tracker and banker. Goodnight called him the man he trusted farther than any other and later paid for his headstone. Ikard inspired the character Josh Deets in the novel Lonesome Dove.
