Innovation vs Stability

Market economies excel at creative destruction — new industries replace old ones as technology advances. This process creates enormous wealth, but it also destroys livelihoods and whole communities.

Coal miners, factory workers, and taxi drivers all experienced this disruption. The collective benefit is clear — society gets better products and services. But concentrated losses among displaced workers create real suffering that pure efficiency arguments cannot dismiss as acceptable.
