LESSON 1 · The Future of Work & Money
New Jobs Emerging
Automation destroys specific jobs but creates entirely new categories nobody predicted. The automobile wiped out horse-related work, then created mechanics, gas station attendants, truck drivers, and suburban real estate agents. Today's emerging roles include AI trainers, prompt engineers, data ethicists, and human-machine interaction designers. Many did not exist five years ago, and categories we cannot yet name will employ millions within a decade.
The real challenge is transition speed. Past waves played out over decades, giving workers time to adapt. AI may compress that timeline, demanding faster retraining than the labor market has ever managed.
