Wu Wei: Effortless Action

The most misunderstood Daoist concept is wu wei, which translates as "non-action" or "effortless action." It does not mean doing nothing. It means doing things in alignment with the natural flow rather than forcing outcomes.

Think of water. It does not fight the rock — it flows around it. Given enough time, it wears the rock away entirely. Wu wei is acting like water: persistent, adaptable, and powerful precisely because it does not waste energy on resistance.
