Governance Without Force
The Dao De Jing offers extensive advice on governance. Its central principle: the best leader governs so subtly that people barely know they are being led. "When the best leader's work is done, the people say 'we did it ourselves.'"
This is not abdication. It is leadership through creating conditions where people naturally do the right thing. Modern servant leadership and systems thinking echo this approach: the most effective organizations are often those where leadership is distributed, autonomy is high, and the management layer is thin.
