Randomness vs. Design
The theorem sparks a deep philosophical question: if random processes can produce Shakespeare given enough time, does that diminish the achievement? Does it mean creation is just time plus chance? Most philosophers say no, and the reason is subtle.

Shakespeare did not have infinite time. A single human mind produced Hamlet within a few years — well inside a normal lifetime. The monkey theorem actually highlights the extraordinary power of directed intelligence by showing how absurdly long pure randomness would take to replicate what a focused mind produces quickly.
