LESSON 4 · Philosophy of Love

The Art Requires Practice

Fromm's metaphor carries a sting most people dodge: mastery takes years of disciplined practice, and few are willing to do the work. We want love to be effortless, like breathing.

But breathing only feels effortless because your body has practiced it nonstop since birth. Love is the same. The challenge is honest: if you would not expect to master piano without daily practice, why expect to master love without it?
