Fincher's Visual Control

David Fincher is known for demanding dozens of takes per shot, and that control extends to every visual element. Fight Club's palette shifts from the narrator's sterile blue-green world to Tyler's warm amber reality, visually separating two personalities before the twist reveals they share one body.

Fincher also slipped single frames of Tyler into scenes before he "officially" appears. These flashes are invisible at normal speed but create subliminal unease — mirroring the film's theme that what you cannot consciously perceive still affects you.
