LESSON 5 · Black Holes: Where Physics Breaks
Holographic Universe Theory
The information paradox inspired one of physics' most radical ideas: the holographic principle. It proposes that all the information contained within a volume of space can be described by a theory on the boundary of that space — like a hologram encoding a 3D scene on a 2D surface.

Juan Maldacena's AdS/CFT correspondence provided a concrete mathematical realization of this principle. It shows that a theory of gravity in a specific type of spacetime is exactly equivalent to a quantum field theory on its boundary — with no gravity at all.
