Manipulation runs on momentum. The pressure feels urgent precisely because slowing down would let it fall apart.

So the strongest defense is also the simplest: the 24-hour rule. Never make an important decision inside the same conversation where you felt pushed. Sleep on it, or even just walk away for an hour.

Time is the manipulator's enemy. Take it back, and their leverage is gone.
