LESSON 5 · Stay Sharp Under Pressure

Your Brain Runs On Fuel

The brain is the body's most energy-hungry organ for its size, and hard decisions are easier when you are rested, fed, and not stretched thin. That does not mean willpower is a simple blood-sugar tank, but it does mean your state matters.

This is why "just push through" is bad advice for a hard call late in the day. Your judgment is not weaker because you are weaker. You may simply be tired, hungry, stressed, or overloaded.

The fix is structural, not heroic: pause, eat if you are genuinely hungry, sleep on it if you can, or move the decision to a better time.
