The 80-Year-Old You
In 1994, Jeff Bezos had a safe, well-paid finance job and a wild idea: sell books on the internet. Quitting felt terrifying. So he ran a thought experiment. He pictured himself at age 80, looking back on his life, and asked one question: which choice would I regret?

Bezos turned that one question into a tool he called the regret minimization framework. The move is simple: stop arguing with yourself about today, and jump forward to the end of your life.
