The British undersea machines were buried underground; the others were taken apart
The machines met no single fate. The British TBMs that bored the undersea section were too costly to extract, so they were steered off course and buried beneath the seabed, where they were even wired up as an electrical earth. The French machines, by contrast, were dismantled, and a few units were removed entirely โ one British machine was later sold on eBay for nearly ยฃ40,000.
