Most parenting advice focuses on how to discipline — timeouts, consequences, boundary-setting. Almost none addresses what happens after.

Children are not miniature adults processing consequences logically. After discipline, their dominant experience is often not "I did something wrong" but "My parent is upset with me." The repair step confirms the relationship is intact even when behavior was not.
