The Curated Illusion

Most of what parents post on Instagram is edited, not honest. Not maliciously, but structurally. Social media rewards highlight reels. The craft-perfect birthday party gets posted. The tantrum in the parking lot afterward does not.

The comparison trap is especially vicious because parenting is already saturated with self-doubt. When you see another family's beach vacation and your kids are watching cartoons at noon, the internal narrative writes itself: I am not doing enough.
