The Strongest Counterarguments

Many physicists and philosophers find the simulation hypothesis unfalsifiable, and therefore unscientific. If any evidence against it can be explained away as part of the simulation, it can never be disproven — and a claim that cannot be disproven is faith, not science. Others argue it repeats the error of intelligent design: mistaking pattern for purpose. A universe that looks designed does not prove a designer, whether that designer is a god or a programmer.
