LESSON 5 · Light, Sound & the Invisible Spectrum
Two Paths to Your Ears
When you talk, sound reaches you two ways: through the air like everyone else hears it, and through bone conduction inside your own skull. Recordings remove that private second path.

The second route is bone conduction. As your vocal cords vibrate, the vibrations travel through the bones of your skull straight to your inner ear — no air needed. Bone carries low notes especially well, so this private channel adds a deep layer of bass that nobody outside your head ever receives.
