LESSON 4 · Manage Energy, Not Time
Structuring Your Day
A typical workday fits four to five 90-minute blocks with recovery periods between them. The work portions alone add up to roughly six to seven hours of focused effort, more real deep work than most people manage in weeks of scattered days.
Assign each block a job:
- Block one: your most demanding creative or analytical work
- Block two: your second-priority project
- Block three: collaborative work and meetings
- Block four: admin tasks and email
