The Anti-Goal Exercise

An anti-goal is a vivid description of what your life, career, or project looks like if everything goes wrong. Write it in detail. If your goal is "build a successful business," your anti-goal might be:

  • Working 80 hours a week with no time for family
  • Being completely dependent on one client for revenue
  • Hating every Monday morning and dreading the work
  • Having no savings because all profit goes back into the business
  • Burning out within three years.
