Apply Inversion to Decisions
Use inversion for everyday choices, not just big goals. Before you commit, ask the inverted question:
- Starting a project? "What would make this fail?"
- Hiring someone? "What traits would make this a terrible fit?"
- Launching a product? "What would make customers hate this?"
Most people only brainstorm what could go right. Inversion forces you to name what could go wrong, so your plans end up both ambitious and resilient.
