Explaining Forces Understanding

There is a big difference between recognizing an idea and being able to explain it. Many students read a textbook and nod along, feeling confident. But asked to explain the idea without notes, they stumble. Explaining exposes the gap between familiarity and real understanding.

This is why study groups work so well when each member teaches a section. Turning vague knowledge into clear language reveals every fuzzy spot. If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it well enough yet, and now you know exactly what to revisit.
