Owning Your 50 Percent

Going from toxic to healthy takes one core shift in how you think about responsibility.

Old script: "I wouldn't have yelled if you hadn't pushed me." That hands your behavior to someone else.

New script: "You said something that triggered me, and I chose to yell. That was my call." It names the trigger without using it as a hall pass. The ownership lands on you.

This does not mean every problem is yours. But it means you work on your half instead of obsessing over theirs. That shift kills your most convenient defense: blame. Without it, all that is left is your own choices, which is the only place change can start.
