LESSON 5 · Love Starts With You

The Four Attachment Styles

Understanding where you fall helps explain your relationship patterns:

  • Secure — comfortable with intimacy and independence; communicates needs directly.
  • Anxious — craves closeness and fears abandonment; stays hypervigilant about a partner's availability.
  • Avoidant — values independence and feels uneasy with closeness; creates distance when intimacy grows.
  • Disorganized — wants closeness but fears it; often rooted in unpredictable early caregiving.

Your style is not fixed. With awareness and effort, insecure attachment can shift toward security over time.
