How to Increase Your Ratio

You can improve your ratio from both sides: increasing positives and decreasing negatives. Increasing positives is easier and more effective. Most partners do not need fewer complaints.

The simplest intervention: catch your partner doing something right and say it out loud. "Thank you for handling bath tonight." Specific appreciation lands harder than generic praise because it proves you were paying attention, which is itself a positive interaction.
