LESSON 5 · The Daily Voice Warm-Up
Drink Back the Loss
The hour after heavy speaking is your window to rehydrate. Talking dries you out twice over: through the air you breathe out, and through moisture evaporating off the larger surface of working vocal folds.

After an especially brutal day, steam inhalation for five to ten minutes can feel soothing and may help the throat feel less dry. The evidence for direct vocal-fold surface hydration is limited, so treat steam as comfort care, not a guaranteed repair tool. The simplest version: lean over a bowl of warm water with a towel draped over your head and breathe slowly.
