LESSON 4 · Deeper, Richer, Magnetic
The Speaker's Sweet Spot
Mixed voice blends chest and head into one sound that is both resonant and easy. It can be a strong speaking voice for many rooms: it keeps the warmth of chest but moves with the freedom of head, so you stay clear without straining. Many magnetic speakers use this balance without ever naming it.
To find your mix, speak in your upper-middle range — a touch higher than your comfy chest pitch — while keeping a hand on your sternum. When you feel a buzz in your chest and your face at the same time, that double buzz is your mixed voice.
