Here is the uncomfortable truth: after more than 2,000 years of observation and 50 years of modern research, no single explanation fully accounts for the Mpemba effect. The answer is almost certainly a mix of evaporation, convection, dissolved gases, supercooling differences, and molecular bond dynamics — with the dominant factor shifting depending on container shape, volume, and freezer temperature. Some physicists even argue the effect is not reliable at all, and that positive results come from inconsistent setups. The debate continues.
