LESSON 6 · Electricity & Circuits Demystified

Practical Survival Guide

Applying battery science to daily life is straightforward:

  • Keep the charge in the middle band — avoid both 0% and 100% when practical
  • Remove phone cases while charging to reduce heat buildup
  • Avoid fast charging daily — slower charging generates less heat and extends cycle life
  • Store devices at 50% charge if you will not use them for weeks
  • Never charge in extreme cold (below 0 degrees Celsius) — lithium plating risk is real

Treat a battery well and it can hold most of its capacity for several hundred charge cycles. Abuse it with heat and deep discharges, and that lifespan can be cut to a fraction.
