Eternal Inflation
Many versions of inflation theory predict that the process never fully stops everywhere. While inflation ended in our region, producing the hot Big Bang we observe, other regions may keep inflating forever.

This idea, called eternal inflation, suggests our universe is one bubble in an endless foam of universes. The catch: the other bubbles lie far beyond anything we could ever observe, so the picture is extremely hard to test.
