LESSON 7 · Speak Up at Work
Recruit a Sponsor
A blocked idea travels further when it isn't only your voice carrying it. Find one person with influence who already sees its value.
Bring them the idea privately, framed around their priorities, and ask for a reaction — not a favor. If they're convinced, they'll raise it in rooms you're not in.
An idea backed by someone other than its author lands differently. It stops sounding like self-promotion and starts sounding like consensus — which is far harder for one manager to dismiss.
