LESSON 7 · The Freelance Leap

Feast-or-Famine Is a Math Problem

Feast-or-famine is not a motivation problem — it is a math problem. Client projects have end dates. If you only prospect when one is ending, your pipeline is sixty days behind income need, and by the time a lead converts, rent is waiting.

The cure comes in three numbers: 20% of weekly time for marketing, 5 active leads, and three months of expenses in a separate account. Each is boring; together they make famine far less likely without heroic scrambling.
