Finding the Gaps

The most valuable part of the technique happens at step 3. When you try to explain something simply and find yourself reaching for technical terms or vague phrases like "it basically works by..." you have found a gap. That gap is not a failure. It is a gift, because now you know exactly what to study.

Most people never discover their gaps because they never try to articulate their understanding. They read, nod, and move on. The Feynman Technique makes invisible confusion visible. Each gap you find and fill turns surface-level familiarity into deep, transferable knowledge that stays with you.
