The Missing Transition

Most people jump straight from one task to the next. They close one document and open another immediately. This creates attention residue, where part of your brain still processes the previous task.

A recovery ritual is a short, structured transition between work blocks that clears attention residue and signals your brain that the current session is complete. Think of it as the cool-down after exercise: skipping it does not save time, it just increases soreness and slows recovery.
