Everyday Friction
This principle transforms how you read everyday friction. The colleague who did not reply, the driver who cut you off, the friend who forgot your birthday — most of the time, the boring explanation is the right one.
People are juggling their own problems, and their failures toward you are almost never personal. Assuming hostile intent where none exists poisons relationships for no reason.
The practical habit is catching yourself in the moment. When you feel slighted, pause and list three innocent explanations. You will usually find that carelessness fits the facts far better than conspiracy.
