Safe Compliment Templates

These patterns work in almost any professional or social setting:

  • Work and skills: "You handled that really well" / "Your report was incredibly thorough"
  • Ideas: "That's a brilliant point" / "I hadn't thought of it that way"
  • Effort: "I can tell you put a lot of work into this" / "The attention to detail shows"
  • Style choices: "Great jacket" / "Love your shoes" (casual settings only)
  • Achievements: "Congratulations — you earned it" / "That's a huge accomplishment"

Notice how each compliment is specific. Vague praise like "You're great" feels empty, while a specific compliment feels real.
