LESSON 2 · Invest Without Fear

Noise vs Signal

On any given day, stock prices react to tweets, rumors, earnings whispers, and geopolitical drama. In the short term, the market is essentially a voting machine — driven by emotion and opinion. The crowd's mood swings hour to hour, and the price swings right along with it.

But zoom out to 10 or 20 years, and something shifts. The market becomes a weighing machine — prices follow actual company earnings. Short-term noise is deafening; long-term signal is reliable. Your job as an investor is to ignore the noise and trust the signal. Once you understand that gap between daily mood and long-term value, the daily swings stop scaring you.
