LESSON 4 · Invest Without Fear

Blockchain in 60 Seconds

Forget everything crypto-bros have told you. A blockchain is simply a digital ledger — a record of transactions that is copied across thousands of computers worldwide. No single person or company controls it.

When someone sends Bitcoin, that transaction gets verified by the network and permanently recorded. No bank is required, but the network is not literally free: on-chain users usually attach transaction fees paid to miners, and exchanges or wallets may charge their own fees. The technology itself is genuinely innovative — but innovative technology and good investment are two very different things.
